Noob to bmw buying advice for f31 320d 2013/14

Hi guys sorry if I’m bringing up old forum topics I’ve flicked through 87pages to make sure I haven’t.
I’m looking on buying a bmw F31 320d m sport auto 2013/2014 I know a lot of you say go for the 330d but the 320d engine size and power will do me fine I do about 7k miles a year will be used for commuting car for girlfriend and weekend car for me as I have Mercedes vito for company van.
Is there any things I need to look out for? I’m looking on spending 10/11k on one with less than 100k miles

The 2.0D N47 is a great engine in terms of economy and performance. Unfortunately the cam chain isn’t so great, have a google and you’ll find out! Most N47s are fine, some people have been unlucky. Regularly oil changes every 9k not 18k, reportedly, goes a good way to preventing issues.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I’ve read up that 90 odd % have had the recall done and what to listen out for but as you say good maintenance/servicing should hopefully prevent any misshaps

Also look out for the LCI updated cars, they will be Euro 6 which will make them a bit more future proof for driving in cities which are clamping down on pollution.
