Missing Pixels - Radio/CD screen LCD panel
Discussion
I have the dreaded missing pixels problem - E91 Touring 2006 - "Professional" radio/CD orange LCD screen. From reading, it's a common problem across all models of the era - recent hot weather has accelerated the decay - it's now almost unreadable.
I can see on Ebay there's 1 or 2 repairers in UK but I'm horrified at the cost - over 100 quid plus postage !
I've also found the Youtube video, of the guy in USA making an good job of swapping the panel for a new one. I fancy going that route - but I can't find where to purchase the replacement panel. To add a bit of complication It seems there's two slightly different models of head unit for the Professional Radio/CD...one has a single knob on LHS and a single row of orange LCD characters ....but my unit has two knobs with a screen of double height row of orange characters.
Any clues where I can get a replacement LCD screen - for under £50 anyone ??
Apologies if this has been covered already - I couldn't find it.
Regards All.
