E46 325ci knocking noise from top left of the engine

I’ve owned this car for 6 months now (5000 miles) and it had 2 previous owners before me with full service history up to 115k when the first owner sold it. I bought the car with 135k miles on it and serviced it straight away. There was no history from the second owner and the car was on lowering springs when I bought it and had not had a service (according to the service booklet) since 115k so I’m guessing it wasn’t looked after very well for that 20k Miles. I thought that it should be fine providing I got it serviced ASAP which I did. I’ve replaced a fair few parts, put it back on standard springs and had the rusty front wings replaced with new ones etc and now there a knocking sound from the top left side of the engine that started about a month back. Anyone got any idea what it could be? Thanks in advance

It does sound sort of like that. I’m guessing it would get faster with the revs as well? It is leaking oil from the rocker cover as well and is booked in for that soon

It would. Worth having a go as per the video. I'd warm it up first before doing it.
