Hi gang. Local garage today carried out a service on my old 650i. To my absolute horror the maniacs didn't use those BMW jacking point adaptor things. Just large rubber pads.

What's the danger here? Just that the plastic points look a mangled? I'm sure I read that it's incorrect jacking that causes problems down the line, or something.

Cheers

Should be fine other than cosmetic damage. Mine are a real state on the 3 series.

The tags can snap and they remove themselves when you go over a bump. If you don’t replace them you can get water ingress then rust.

They’re easy enough to replace if they are damaged (I need to sort one of mine out that’s a bit mangled). Genuine ones are about £15 each.
