I put a thread on here a while ago regarding a possible faulty sensor on my n54 335i, I had a useful tip suggesting i reset it, however that didn't do the job unfortunately. I was wondering if i needed to replace it, can a general mechanic do the job or does it need to be coded with special software? I realise that the injectors on these cars like so much other stuff needs software only a BMW specialist would possess. its starting to really bug me now so I best get it looked at. Thanks

No coding needed. It may need recalibrating though. (I.e ecu learns new end stops of sensor).

Yeah I knew there was some tinkering required from watching a programme once, as long as I know it's within the realms of a general mechanic that's cool. My guy is really busy with different projects at the moment so may need to use my brothers guy.
