Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping someone can please help me.

I have a 2004 BMW 525i which has the siemens dme ms45.0 - I've spoken to 2 places, the garage has spoken to 2 places and both say they don't do this ECU.

I can't afford to scrap the car or a massive repair bill either.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Zener

Try https://www.ecutesting.com if it is beyond repair get a second hand unit (they seldom go wrong) DME/ECU you can get the immobiliser EWS side blocked so it will be plug and play for simplicity the alternative is a little more complex and costly frown lots of people able do this procedure even reputable Ebay sellers , what makes you think your is faulty ? failure is very very rare unless water ingress etc

No specific help but you might try a more BMW specific forum like E46 fanatics - if you're lucky there will be a 3 series with the same engine / ECU and the E46 community is a phenomenal thing.

Thanks for the quick replies, I tried ECU testing and they don't do the 45 unfortunately.

Good point about the BMW forum, worth a try.

A used ECU complete with key and CAS box is needed. 2004 is an early E60 with the M54 engine and E39 style key and lock barrel.

Here's an ECU. EndTuning can wipe the EWS function so it's plug and play.

This one is even cheaper:

This one comes with the CAS (car access system) box.
