BMW X5 E70 2008 - rear dvd upgrade options

Hello, I have an x5 with an existing dvd system and I wondered if anyone has successfully upgraded it. The biggest issue as I see it is that it takes is an analogue Display . Ideally I would like to use something like a raspberry pie. I am sure the older ones had s video on them and the new you can customise them to have them.

The plan would be to use it to stream Netflix or amazon so I would need to find an os / kodi that has the best support for things like stream services. It would tether off my phone hotspot on long journeys . Of course a full conversion to digital and using a fire stick would be the anti faff solution as that would just work and then I would find to find a cheap Wi-Fi AP that powers off the car when it powered on to make that work and then bridge my phones Wi-Fi into it.

Yes I would just give the child an iPad but where is the challenge in that!

Questions if you please
• has anyone opened up the x5 rear DVD and worked out how to connect a hdmi Input
• has anyone tried a raspberry pie connection and managed this with no external wires
• has anyone seen any complete retro fit kits that just solve the problem

Any pointers, other posts I could not find, anything I am looking for ideas please !
