I need to replace the front pads on my 2018 F15 X5 but the OEM pads produce truly insane amounts of brake dust. Are there particular brands that produce less dust but still work quite well? Or am i just going to trade dust for squealling noises? The OEM pads don't squeal and i like that.

ATE make ceramic pads which drastically reduce the dust levels and don’t squeak.

I've heard of ATE before but never heard of the ceramic pads - good find!

Confusingly, it looks like they only do the ceramics for the rear not the front https://web.tecalliance.net/ate/en/parts/cars/assi...

I can find pads for the previous X5, just not the F15 which is the generation before current so it surprises me. I'll see if i can find another manufacturer that does ceramic fronts.

As above, ATE if you can.

Jurid & Textar are OEM and never had issues with them myself in the past.

EBC Yellowstuff are very good, not sure if they do them for your car though. Red stuff are good also, but avoid Greenstuff as they’re only as good as OEM & can be very dusty..

Ferodo, Pagid and Mintex can be good too

For anyone else who finds this thread in future - the ATE Ceramic pads for the E70 X5 are compatible with the F15 X5.

Thanks all!

I've used Pagid pads for the last few years, which have been ok; I recently switched to Brembo discs & pads on the rear of my F11, and whilst they were previously clean (in comparison to the fronts) they are now very dusty indeed. Maybe they'll bed in etc - but I think that's just the way they are. Back to Pagids at the first opportunity.

Brembo pads, for me, have always been terrible. I stay away from them due to how dusty they can be!
