I have a bow 2008 n47 320d 89000 miles at the moment no noise from the timing chain but having it renewed next week also having the intake manifold and ports cleaned out and swirl flap delete, so hoping i get another 80 000 miles out of her with oil and filter changers at 5000 miles. fingers crossed

Save money by leaving the timing chain and have the sump removed and cleaned out instead. Clean/ replace the oil pick up & strainer as well. 5k oil & filter changes with top spec oil should see you another 80k miles

The problem is there was no service history with the car so I have no idea of the condition of the chain. guides. and tensioners but I will also clean sump and oil pick up
