Hey, i've got E90 LCI with Style 194 "17 wheels, By default, it has 225/45 mounted in front and 255/40 in the back. The problem is, I can't find any decent WINTER tires in 255/40 size (or it's too expensive for me). Some people are telling me that 225/45 front and 235/45 would be fine, others tell that 225/45 in front and 245/40 in the back. Who should i trust? do you have any ideas what size tires can i put in the back to not make it look ugly? Thanks!

Does the tyre label on the b pillar or in filler cap state alternative tyre sizes?

235 on the rears would be stretched, 245s would work better. Stick with the normal size on the front

Are you able to afford a 2nd set of alloys that are the same size all round? That way you’ll be able to run the same sized tyres all round

I do this on my E39 touring, 235/45/17 Avon WV7 winter tyres all round

Generally Camskill have the best prices, you just need to get them delivered and then fitted locally for £beertokens etc thumbup

As Scrump said, check the approved sizes for winters. For mine its 245/45R19 front / 275/40R19 rear for summer and 245/50R18 front and rear for winters
