iDrive frustration - any cure ?

Recently bought a 2017 335D and its my first experience of iDrive (although had similarly based system in the previous MINI). One thing is starting to really get on my nerves and I don't know if anyone has a solution.

I listen to a lot of podcasts and use the Overcast app on my iPhone. When in the car, if an episode finishes and there is no subsequent episode in that subscription, the iDrive immediately swaps to locally stored music on my iPhone. In the MINI it didn't always do that but sometimes on getting in the car it reverted to local music but randomised what it would play. In the BMW it always goes to same first track alphabetically and I'm getting sick of hearing the same damn track every time.

Is there any way I can configure it not to do this ?

I’ve read about other people having the same frustration with this. I think one solution was to save a track with nothing (no sound) on it & named in such a way that it would be selected 1st alphabetically by the system.
