It seems that BMW have a 30% off offer running for Black Friday which includes all Connected Drive subscriptions and Service Packs. Offer runs until midnight on 30 Nov.

I think they did 50% on the Friday, last year.

That said, I can’t recall a week of 30% before.

Just looked at that for our car. £1100 for 5 years, 60k miles - the condition based servicing and the miles our car does means thats basically 2 services which doesn't sound great value?

Seems I can book service inclusive on my car even though it had it's first service last week. It was done early to be convenient, but had I known I could get this I would have held off and cancelled the other plan. The price difference is very significant; so much so that it'd be worth me writing off the cost of the first plan's service to hop onto this one instead - and just get it serviced...er...again?!

Is that on an i8? Seems expensive. For reference they are quoting me £303 for my i3s and £606 on an m340i.

In your position I'd ask a dealer how much the first two services on your car is likely to cost; if it's around £1100 there's not much point buying the service pack - and giving BMW the money upfront - but if it's a fair bit more the service pack might well be worth it providing you intend to keep the car for long enough to get at least the two services out of it.

By way of comparison, I was quoted £606 for the 5-year/60k mile service pack on my G21 M340i Touring and, providing I keep the car for at least 4 years, that will get me a minimum of the first two services (on the basis a service is required at least every two years regardless of mileage). I then talked to a local dealer to see what those first two services were likely to cost and was told it would be around £1k; on that basis £606 for the service pack seemed good value and, when you consider the cost of parts (and hence servicing) could increase in the event of something like a No Deal Brexit, the comfort afforded by the service pack made even more sense. As I fully intend to keep the car for at least 4 years it was a relatively easy decision for me!

No, its for an 840 (the i8 went for various reasons) but I imagine its the same B58 engine as your M340i. They must rub their hands together when 7 and 8 series owners turn up. For £600 I'd have bought it. Maybe they've not discounted it and thats full price as 30% off would be close to what you've been offered.

Update - just added it to the basket in case the discount appeared then... but nope
Odd price though - the exact figure was £1099.06

That does seem like a ridiculous mark up just because it's an 8 series, would expect it has exactly the same servicing requirements as the 340i.

Thanks for the heads up OP. Turns out my car turned 3 last week and the connected drive subscription had lapsed. I quite liked the weather forecast on the screen! It's now back.
