As above really. I am struggling to find numbers online as to the rear legroom of these 2 models.

Any clues would be welcomed.

Thanks
Rich

Can't help here but also interested to know as I'm looking to switch to a 340i.

F20 - wheelbase is 2690mm, rear legroom is 860mm
F30 - wheelbase is 2810mm, rear legroom is 892mm

We ran a F20 for a few years as a second car; size wise it was fine. As a family car though, the F31 would be a better bet size-wise.

Wow only 32mm difference !
340i, I have one, is fine for my passengers.
The 1 series loaners I had made them feel claustrophobic biggrin

Great excuse to get a better car wink

Thanks for that. Not as much difference as I had hoped. We have a f20 so are wanting more rear space. Hmm. Possibly back to the drawing board.

I ran an E90 LCI (320d ed) for a couple of years, and my eldest lad struggled with rear room - mostly with headroom, but also with legroom - which is what prompted me to get my current F11 5 series. No issues with room in there! But it's huge externally, so not ideal for parking. Having said that, you get used to it and it has never really been an issue.
I did look fleetingly at the 3 series GT, which has more rear legroom. But if I were replacing the 5 series tomorrow, I'd probably be hard pushed to not look at the 3 series Touring (F31) again. Or just look at the competition (C Class?!).
