Wrong hedgehog? Final Stage Resistor Question

I picked up a 2004 E46 325i Touring yesterday. The heater blower motor wasn't working but the previous owner supplied a new Final Stage Resistor.

When I finally managed to get the old one out I noticed that the supplied part was a slightly different shape and has fewer prongs in a different configuration.

Will the new part (on the left in the picture) work or should I seek out one like the old one?

IIRC it should work; they have changed over the years

The Meyle one I recommend (comes with 2 years warranty) is the same for the E46 and E39 IIRC:

It should work, just a different design for the heat sink.
