I'm sure this has been covered before but I can't find anythng immediately obvious.

It's renewal time for the BMW Insured Warranty on my 70k mile 2017 F31 335d, basically is it worth it?

Without roadside and including a £250 excess my quotes are:
£540 for Comprehensive (£1138 with no excess)
£463 for Named Component (£904 with no excess)
£348 for Driveline (£626 with no excess)

Anyone have any thoughts or advice on what might be best for my car?

TIA

In order to answer that you would need to give information about how many miles you do per year, how long you want to keep the car, how dependent you are on its mobility and if you are able or willing to pay for a major component (engine, gearbox, etc) out of your own pocket.

Personally I would just go with Comprehensive for peace of mind

It's a 5 year car so 4 years to go, 15-20k miles a year in a normal year and no, not happy to pay for the major components but don't know if they are particularly weak in any areas?

My old Audi A6 was tough as old boots, this doesn't have the same bullet proof feel about it, if that makes any sense?

I was thinking the middle option as the £250 excess probably covers lots of the little bits that the comprehensive warranty includes but who knows...

Complex twin turbo engine doing up 20k a year.
£540 works out at £10 a week or £2 per working day.
Less than the price of a coffee. No brainer to me !
They charged more for my lower mileage 520d !

Is it offering you the £100 excess option as well ?

I went for that, this year.
