I have just realised I think I am being an idiot (highly likely)

I tend to take my car to my favourite indy specialist when getting an MOT, partly because I am also usually getting other stuff done.

Is there any point in this other than to avoid the retest charge if it fails.

My indy is an hour a way but I have a kwikfit 3 mins drive and dont mind paying twice if it then needs something doing.

I just realised that the MOT tester is presumably independently trained etc right?

I quite like using an Indy specialists for MOT time as they tend to know all the usual weak points and know to warn you of stuff that needs taking care in the future. Kwik Fit use mots as a s sales lead so expect the usual worn brakes, oil misted shocks. Etc..etc.. advisories.

If you trust your Indy and can spare the time definitely go there.

I wouldn't take a wheelbarrow to Kwik Fit.
