Hey all,

In another round of how costly can December be, I’ve had another issue checked out on my car.

My car is a 640d Gran Coupe (LCI), and it’s developed a continual vibration through the car whilst on the motorway. Had it balanced, but nothing changed.

Went back and had someone from the garage drive the car and he instantly said it’s highly likely an issue related to the driveshaft/prop shaft which is causing the vibration. Vibration lessens when accelerating and increases again when off the gas.

I can only assume that the cost of a drive shaft replacement is likely £1000+ minimum, thankfully I have warranty that should cover it.

It’s due in on Monday again to have it diagnosed by BMW

Anyone else had an issue with the F06 or anything new like this? I knew the ride was generally not the best without VDC, but yeah at current rate it’s off putting to drive

Guibo in the propshaft is more likely than the 'shaft itself.

I hope so. I dont have many of the symptoms of a failing shaft itself, only the vibrations.. no clunks or anything else of the sort
