Where to get X5 E53 rear converted to coil spring in London?
Discussion
Hey folks,
I've got an X5 E53 and want to get the rear air suspension removed. Does anyone know a garage in London that would do this? Mine is the one with just the rear suspension (front is coils) so it is a straightforward change. I asked a couple of garages but they wouldn't do it.
Cheers!

Do you use the car to tow or use its full loading capacity?
IMO replacing SLS doesn't make sense, like folk do on the E39s.
Have you checked to see what it is that's failed (ie is it the bag or compressor etc)?
If just the bag(s) replace them with Arnott bags and keep the SLS. It's a superb function to have IMO

No towing and only gets loaded up a couple of times a year on a trip across the channel. So I'd say the SLS hardly ever is needed, though it was nice to have the car fully loaded and level when touring Europe two years back (what a concept nowadays!).IMO replacing SLS doesn't make sense, like folk do on the E39s.

Not sure what the issue is, first the rear left deflated last month, started the car, it raised ok, then two hours later both sides were down. Started the car again and it went up and stayed up and I heard the compressor work ok to lift the car up and the rear stayed up as it should for the next 4 weeks (car has been driven in between).
Today I woke up and the car was fine in the morning, then 4 hours later without driving it was down. Maybe it didn't like the snow. I'm just baffled that it was fine for a month then went down again today. Unless that's how bags start failing, never had a car with air suspension before.
