was looking at the exact same last year, a 40i X5 with 7 seats. What's the 'RRP' as it is advertised and are you buying brand new or used?
Also what packs, does it have Technology Pack/Comfort for example? The MSport pack certainly makes it look nicer, wouldn't buy one without.
I actually went 'down' from X5, which you can't do as you said you need the 7 seats, i definitely preferred having 7 seats, but all things considered it was a nice to have, not essential, and went for the X3 with M40i engine.

so a few things, what's the APR you been offered? As i called BMW, flirted but said i can't work out at the APR on the website, i'm keen but can they work more towards a lower number (which i provided) or alternatively a monthly number and see if they can come down a bit (more flexibility with payment plans etc). You should be able to get around 5% ish, so would recommend you try for that, even if you need to ring a different BMW garage (i.e Sytner vs Coopers for example, play them off).
From a personal perspective, just my two cents and each to their own of course, but you could pick up a 6 month old X5 for £10k cheaper, probably with the tech pack and under 10k miles on a 40i. They were going for around £50k when i last checked, so could save yourself a pretty penny.
I would recommend the Tech pack for the bigger screen and the HUD which really is useful.

This is a lease deal so apr not relevant. Also you can no longer ring round to get them down to 5% etc. From a personal perspective, just my two cents and each to their own of course, but you could pick up a 6 month old X5 for £10k cheaper, probably with the tech pack and under 10k miles on a 40i. Bmw dealers have a fixed rate on apr and can no longer do deals on finance.

Sorry I should have mentioned I hand the car back after 4 years with no option to purchase.
I didn't know the X5 offered a bigger screen on the Tech pack - I will check that out for sure
Screen isn’t any bigger with the Tech pack. It is thoroughly recommended though. The Comfort pack is also essential for me to get the better, multi adjustable seats which are way more comfortable. I didn't know the X5 offered a bigger screen on the Tech pack - I will check that out for sure

i had BMW Partridge in Hampshire call me back with a different APR to what was available in Sytner and via the BMW website. I'm not saying they're giving cars out at 0%, i'm saying they can be more flexible if they've spoken to you once or twice and know your keen, and liaise with BMW Finance on a more suitable finance option. The worst case is no improvement, the best is a couple of percentage points off. Bmw dealers have a fixed rate on apr and can no longer do deals on finance.
I'm very well versed in 'Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)' by the Financial Conduct Authority thank you very much though...
