Hi, I have a BMW 1 series that has bluetooth which supports phone calls but not music streaming. I was wondering if anyone knew any garages that have a good reputation for coding cars? thanks!

I don't know anyone. But, give us a clue whereabouts in the country you are.

Bluetooth is funny. Phone only might be a hardware thing. Are you sure this can be coded to play music????

If you have a AUX and USB port under the armrest you can get a dongle that plugs into both to allow streaming via bluetooth. It doesn’t interfere with the phone Bluetooth either.

I bought one on AliExpress for about a fiver.

It could be a hardware limitation depending on the model. Not just a coding thing. It'll probably need a combox and maybe head unit retrofit.

Not sure what age/model your 1 Series is, but I've gone for a Sony Bluetooth Adapter plugged into the cigarette lighter and AUX socket. Cost £70 - as I'd had a few bad experiences with cheaper ones off Amazon - and works an absolute treat. Pairs every time without fail, sound quality is pretty good too.

Think it's NLA now sadly, but any decent BT Receiver will do the job.

That would be great news. I was contemplating this but thought I will loose the phone Bluetooth pairing.
Possibly depends on how clever the phone is to transmit to two sources?
