Morning,

Time to replace the 2 rear tyres on the car and instead of replacing with Runflats (car currently has 4 x Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT tyres).

I'm thinking of replacing all 4 tyres with non Runflats for what i've read will be a better ride on the road.

Has anyone else done similar and is there really a noticeable difference ?

Any recommendation on which tyres to go for ? The current runflats are 200 GBP a piece. I'm happy to pay that plus a bit for good tyres.

Thanks,
Nick

Michelin PS4s
Goodyear Eagle F1s
Falken FK510s

They'd be my top 3

The Uniroyal RainSport tyres are excellent also; very well suited to the UK climate

See what Camskill have in and can offer you price wise; all you need to do is get them fitted locally smile

I'm not sure of the size of your wheels but from my experience I'd be very wary of swapping the runflats. I had 20" wheels(Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT) on my 640d(Coupe) but I didn't like the ride, so I swapped to none runflats(Bridgestone Potenza S001) and I suffered 3 punctures in a fairly short space of time. frown

So if I had my time again I would definitely stick with the runflats, and I'd also buy a car with the 19" wheels rather than the 20" wheels.

The ride was far better with the none runflats though(and a bit more steering feel as well I thought), but it wasn't worth the pain in return from the punctures that I got(and being stranded at the side of the road).

Hands down (trouser pocket) Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S. Else Pilot Sport 4.
Different kind of car but mate's just gone from 21" runflat Dunlop SP Sport Maxx (something) to 22" non-runflat PS4S on a C7 RS6, it's night and day.

I'm another fan of Michelin tyres as well. I have Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on the 370Z and Michelin Pilot Super Sport on the M4. I also had Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on my Cooper S, they are my go to tyre now for sure.
