BMW F82 M4 Diff Oil Leak

So I picked up my M4 a couple weeks back, 2017 comp pack with 11k miles.

Fast forward 2 weeks, I have oil on my path, upon inspection it's leaking from the rear differential.

I have just had to pay Williams Liverpool £120 diagnostics fee, to even look at the diff before they would give me a quote on the work involved...
this is on top of the £133 cost of an oil charge the car was initially going in for

... so here I am waiting.

Has anyone else has this issue on their M4?

I’ve not heard of it on the M4. But leaking diffs isn’t a new problem on BMWs. The common cause is a faulty output shaft seal. Quick and easy to change if you know what you’re doing.

Whether it should fail on such a young car at low mileage is another question.
