Putting an F11 on axle stands...how?
Discussion
I want to remove all four wheels from my 2015 520d Touring F11, so I can get the alloys refurbished.
I've searched all over, but cannot get a straight answer on how to jack it up and get it on axle stands. I know there is a central jacking point at the front, so I can get the front on axle stands with the stands placed under the sill jacking points with no issues.
However, at the back, although apparently it's OK to place a jack centrally under the diff on an F10, you are not supposed to do this on an F11. So how are you supposed to do this safely? Is it really that bad to jack an F11 on the diff, with a decent hydraulic jack and a big rubber "hockey puck"? I'm assuming it must be a weight thing?
Or, if I'm using rubber pads on the axle stands themselves, can I jack the car on the sill using the rubber puck?
Thanks!

You're supposed to use the strut plate behind the diff (number 3 in top diagram):

But I wouldn't have any concern using the main body of the rear diff (not putting pressure on the rear cover and certainly not where fitted the rear cover cooling fins). With the diff you just have to be careful not to have it slip off e.g. greasy diff or poor positioning.
How do you mean rubber pads on the axle stands? You want the car built-in hard points/blocks (number 2 in top diagram) sat right on the axle stand. Don't jack anywhere on the sills apart from those points.
