I want to use my local "trusted" garage to service the 2015 Active Tourer 225ixdrive.
In order to update the service schedule on the idrive system can I use Bimmercode or Bimmerlink or do I have to visit a BMW dealer and ask them (at a cost) to update the service history ?
If the bimmer.... can be used what do I need in order to link the ap to the car and do things, technology ain't my thing !
Cheers
Brian.

Neither of those can update the service history. I don’t believe BMW dealers will update the history if they didn’t do the work.

There is a piece of software called HU-ServiceManager that will allow you to update the service history, but it’s only updated locally on the car. If it ever goes into the dealer for a service, all the entries will be wiped as these updates won’t be on the BMW servers.

Some independent BMW garages do have access to the BMW servers and can update the ‘official’ service history. You would need to check with the garage to see if they can do this. It’s generally only larger garages that can do it, as they have to pay BMW for the privilege.

Thanks for the info. It will just remain not updated then and I'll just keep the paper copy from my garage.
Cheers
Brian.
