My 330d has to go sadly Mayor KhanT and his oct 25th ulez has killed it. I do fancy this... one of Tony Lewis TRL of Berry BMW Heathrow Motech Editions .....now I know he was selling these in 2018 for £33k heavily discounted.I know prices have gone nuts lately just feeling its a £27k car just my gut feeling. What say you.Cheers! Edit only 9k miles mind.

The price is consistent with the current market, which has gone crazy.

Would I buy it? No chance. Although a well specced car, it’s modified status makes it a car that is unsaleable by any franchised dealer (other than presumably TRL’s establishment) and 99% of the buying population.

Find yourself a standard car. Consider the new M135i too. Maybe it doesn’t have the 6 pot, but everything else is a real step forward from the old shape 1.

Out of interest, my F30 335D is showing as no charge for ULEZ.

Why does the 330D get charged ?

TRL doesn’t touch used cars, whether Berry would or not I’m not sure but I doubt it.

The gearbox on the F40 isn’t a patch on the ZF8 of the previous cars. The interior is better quality though, much better quality but the digital dials are revolting in my opinion.

OP that looks overpriced to me; it’s more than I paid for my 140 Shadow Edition brand new. Mine only had pro nav and heated seats, but I paid £28k new. Can’t help thinking that if you bought that, you’d take a real hit when you want to move it on. People rave about the Motech stuff but having fiddled with my old 140, it needed more than springs and spacers to solve the chassis shortcomings.

From your previous posts you clearly like your F30 330d, so why not look for another, or a 430d Gran Coupe - you'd get one for a fraction of the cost of the new G series cars and all LCI ones will be Euro 6 which should solve your current dilemma.

Gtye cheers Problem with that is I have the autotrader app and have already had a good look.Prices are steep and really do I want a big diesel that I have no idea of its history has it been stuck in traffic all its life for example.I dont want to pay out £20k plus on a 3/4 year old car like that. That M140 was just a mad moment. It is a dilemma.Plus re secondhand I have a must have option a sunroof that really cuts down my options

I wonder if there is any value in buying used at the moment for example this 3 year old . No good for me I dont want x drive but for £6000 more on cheaper apr I can get a new 128ti gives 40 plus mpg on the motorway and a bit of fun.I had a 120d once a pefect car size wise for my life plus 3 year warranty problem there is 4 month new build time

If you're buying used its always going to be a compromise, the sunroof will really limit your options.

Prices are high at the moment and likely to stay high this year.

A low miles 430d Gran Coupe with a sunroof is around £34k on AT it seems, which sounds like its over your budget?

How about this?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202105243...

Okay its a 420d, but its £23k, 19k miles and a good spec. Haggle for an extra year's warranty if that's a concern.

If you're inside the M25 the loss of the 30d shouldn't be a major factor.

At the end of the day, you get what you pay for, but it's not the ideal time to be buying that's for sure.

I indirectly chopped a 430d for a 320d - to be honest I didn't feel short changed. Its plenty quick enough as a daily, and more frugal. And Chris Harris rates them if you don't believe me.

I think from memory you've been struggling for a couple of years on what to replace your 330d with? My advice, make a decision and just run with it.

Buy the very best example you can, get the lowest mileage you can (I'd say less than 10k miles) and buy on condition. Buy from a BMW dealer for peace of mind and get the warranty increased if that helps you sleep easier.

A 128ti won't cost you less than £34k for one with decent spec and a sunroof. That'll get you a 8k miles 70 plate 430d. Less if you can forego the sunroof.

The ULEZ extension is going to happen, so I'd not wait until the deadline to offload your old car, it'll be a tough sell in the M25 area.

Well, will be pulling the trigger on a new 128ti from bmw north oxford stormbay grey with sunroof £31,500. ......very happy with that price. Now I have made my mind up I feel better for it just have to get on with it. ....one thing, it would be handy to have the larger no cost option fuel tank do you think that would effect handling as this car is all about being 80kgs lighter than the M135i. I am guessing not but bigger brains than me might know different.I believe its 11 trs

By all accounts that’s a good choice, they’re getting good reviews.

Is that a factory order or have you stumbled across a stock car?

Definitely go for the larger tank, any difference will be minuscule and in the highly unlikely event you could find a difference- just simulate it by not filling the tank!

I’ve seen a couple in the flesh and I like them. Does yours have the decals?

I’m not a fan of the M135i but I do like the 128ti. They’ve reviewed really well too, managing to out GTI the GTI by all accounts.

God stuff. I like the decals, I think they add a bit of fun to it and they’re not OTT like the Golf chequered jobbies on the TCR.

I can’t believe the larger tank would an additional moulding, the capacity would limited by different filler tubes with higher/lower cut off points, I have seen that done before.
