Hi, having just changed to my first BMW from Vauxhall my daughter’s MaxiCosi full backed booster seat doesn’t fit my 2016 F31

It fits the Isofix with some encouragement but the width covers the seat belt latch.

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and what seat they ended up with?

Thanks in advance of any advice!

On my F36 unfortunately I had to get a seat belt extender from Amazon. I have a maxi cosi forward facing / young child seat and it isn’t that the latch is covered, it’s that the in-car latches are so recessed in the car that leaning around a car seat to then plug a belt in is impossible for a 4 y/o let alone an adult, hence the extended is plugged in permanently.

Give it a good test when you do purchase as one I bought fell apart after some prodding.

You have described it perfectly. I can see the latch but as it’s recessed with no movement at all the buckle won’t fit.

I think I’ll get a seat belt extender as you say - (thanks for the tip) because the alternative is a lessor quality seat using just the belt with no isofix

I used a be safe base for my f31 when we needed a rear facing one.

We used a Maxi-Cosi in a 2016 F30 for a grandchild. We have not used it for a while (outgrown). I don’t recall any problems, but I see what you mean about recessed belts.

Our main issue was how to pass on car seats, charity shops won’t take them, so you need to pass them on personally.

Can you slide the seat across at all OP? I had the same issue on my F31 (and E90 prior) but noticed that I could attach the seat to isofix and then slide the seat across slightly (10mm or so) and that was enough to enable me to do the seat belt up fairly easily.

The child seat does have a very small range of movement on the isofix but not enough to give access to the seatbelt latch.

Have just discovered the Maxicosi website does have a seat compatibility check and our current seat it says it isn’t. Though it does suggest a different one should so I’m going to take punt and order it, if it doesn’t I’ll send it back.

I’ll post on here how I’ll get on, as I can’t be the only one to have had these issues.

I used a Recaro Monza seat for my son in my F31 and it was fine. He's just on a normal booster now, which isn't isofixed in.
