Can anyone shed any light, I have just taken delivery of a new 530d xdrive msport. Having had two 335s and in these when I activate the sports mode button on centre console, I could feel the steering and suspension along with throttle response change. Now in the 530 when the same is done there is no difference whatsoever and you can’t feel anything change either. My question is is this normal on the 5 series or is there something wrong.

Have you had a look in ‘Configure Sport’ to see what’s on/off ?

I have configured both sports and eco pro mode individual settings to all sports ticked, no difference.
I’ve even reset them and tried no difference

If it's brand new then I would go back to the dealer if everything is ticked and on, I would suggest though that the 5 isn't a sporty car, my experience is not much changes in the 5 and 7 when you call for sporty steering and suspension, the throttle and gearbox react though are you feeling them change?

All boxes are ticked
I have been out again in it and can’t feel anything change like it did in my 335 when sports mode button pressed.
Just wanted to know if there should be an apparent change felt before I say something to my local dealer and made to feel a right pratt 😂

Sorry, hope I'm reading the above correctly, are you saying that in ALL modes you have all the sport settings ticked? If that is the case then I would not expect any difference, but I think I'm reading it wrong?

I'm sure you have tried this and I'm talking ste (quite normal)...

Eco Pro Mode - Everything set to OFF (whatever that means?)
Sport Mode - Everything set to ON.

I would expect you to be able to feel some difference with the above settings.

The main differences you should feel are that the throttle pedal is more sensitive and it holds onto gears longer. To check it is working, try driving at a constant throttle in 8th gear in comfort, select sport or sport plus. You should feel the car drop a gear or 2, speed up and the dashboard display change.

I'm not sure if the LCI (latest) cars are any different.

On mine I don't like the Sports steering as it's noticeably heavier but prefer the throttle in Sport and it disables Auto Stop/Start.

There is a marked difference between Eco Pro (horrible), Normal and Sport IMO.

It will only change the suspension if you have adaptive suspension of course.
