Since getting our 2007 LCI E61, we've only had one key. Last week I finally bit the bullet and got a second key from BMW.

I was expecting that the memory seats etc would respond to which key is being used but that isn't quite what's happening.

If I use the original key (the one I use myself), the seat etc will move as soon as I unlock car to the position I last had it in (or is it memory pos 1?). But if my wife uses her new key, the seats etc do not move at all. They'll stay wherever they were left.

Is there anything I need to change to do to get this working properly?

This is probably a stupid question, but have you loaded the seat position onto the second key?

Climate temperature is on a physical dial on these so I assume they can't change with key?

Crisis averted!

I hadn't picked up on the fact that many of the iDrive settings don't carry over from one key to another. So the seat moving on unlock was set for my key but not for my wife's. Now working as it should.

Thanks both.
