Does anyone have experience of buying “genuine BMW parts” from LLL Parts? If so, would you recommend them?

Thanks.

As in on eBay?

If so avoid; they're not UK based but Latvia or Lithuania and they take an AGE to land; if at all

What parts is it you're after?

Used them last year for a genuine part (gear knob) and they delivered no problem, would use them again.

The are registered in the UK, Germany and Lithuania - and I assume the 3 warehouses they list with parts at different prices will be in each of those countries - so there should be no further costs to add to your order to get it to you even if it comes from a German/Lithuanian warehouse.

Thanks for the replies.

I’m thinking of getting some black chrome exhaust tips for my G30. As stated above, LLL’s website shows 3 different prices, one for each of their warehouses. I haven’t yet tried a BMW dealership, but I’ll give them a call. Having said that, I don’t think the black chrome tips have been used on any UK model so perhaps they won’t supply them.

I’ve used them before without any real issue.

My only criticism is that they’re often not the cheapest if you hunt about.

They are just another one of those Latvian/Lithuania resellers that floods ebay with generic listings for every part number they could scrape off the ETK.
As others said, if you don't mind the delivery being somewhat slow (compared to UK sellers, but they generally hit the timeframe specified on the listing), they are not a scam.
They won't always be the cheapest, especially if charging delivery (some German sellers or UK dealers are sometimes less expensive), but the fact that they attempt to sell the whole ETK means they are an easy option compared eg to checking with your dealer if they can order the same thing.

One thing that is quite annoying about their selling practices "if it's on the ETK we'll sell it" is they would often list long NLA parts and sell them to you, only to come back later saying they obviously can't get it

I used them for a bunch of small parts that were likely dealer only, and they were fine. Price was reasonable, although the delivery was quite slow and the biggest concern was that they sent me an email saying that the parts were dispatched (from the UK) yet the parcel didn't arrive for another week. I was concerned that the parcel had been lost.

All said I'd order again from them for similar parts that are hard to find outside of the dealer network. Bigger things and consumables you can probably find cheaper elsewhere by searching for part numbers on eBay etc.

I had the same experience with parts for an A*d*. Ordered 31 July, shipped 5 August, had to request from them a tracking ID (Hermes), practically no updates on Hermes' tracker other than "we've got your parcel" and then it suddenly turned up on my doorstep this morning, very well packaged in loads of bubble wrap (it was a piece of reflective trim from the rear bumper).

Thanks for all the replies.

Haven't had chance to get a price from the local BMW dealership, but it sounds like LLL are a trustworthy bunch (I was a little concerned it might be a scam).

I can echo the above really.

Ordered a part brand new I could not find used a anywhere for my golf (8 inch screen surround with the specific GTD/I pattern on it) and was 30-40 quid cheaper than I could find elsewhere, and when I added to basket and didn’t complete they sent a 5% discount code which was nice.

Delivery was slower than i expected but it turned up well boxed and in brand new condition (as it should).

Would use again for obscure parts, especially as they often have pictures of the part so you can confirm it’s correct.

Dragging this one up again.

I'm trying to order a new scuttle / cowl for my F20 M135i 2012 and these guys seem to be the only place I can find that lists one.

However they are very slow to reply to queries and having stumbled on this thread I'm questioning whether to order or not, especially as I'm Down Under in Brisbane.

Does anyone have any more current experience with LLL or any alternative parts suppliers?

Thanks.

Hiya, yep bought a window trim from them a couple of weeks ago. Arrived, correct part and welll packaged.

They're a little slow and have a bit of a strange ordering system but they do check the part is correct for your VIN before shipping so should make sure you get the right bit.

This thread came up in my what s new feed.

I ordered parts for a non BMW and they turned up exactly as advertised. It just took a while.

Ditto, slow but very good and genuine, they have bits for the stuff that’s been harder to find elsewhere. Worth the 2 week wait.

If I want to order BMW parts online I use Sytner Stevenage. Reliable and quick dispatch, helpful on the phone too. Cheaper than LLL Parts which post from Germany, they have a UK base but that’s only for returns, dispatch is Germany.

https://www.sytnerstevenagebmwparts.co.uk/

The place to avoid, as I have experience, is MLPerformance. Cheap but never seem to have the item in stock once you’ve placed the order, then all you get for weeks on end are excuse email updates. Avoid at all costs!

The only problem I have with Sytner Stevenage is their website stock is always out of date (or deliberately false in the hope that you'll order the rest of the parts you want from them and ignore the 75% that are NLA), as they'll show parts as available to order which are NLA from BMW.

Just been back on today, and the same NLA parts are still showing as available to order (for example try a simple storage net 51470429466 that I was told was NLA last week).

Email Cotswold BMW, they are pretty much on all BMW forums and quick and simple to deal with.

Bought an EDC hydraulic pipe from them for my E32 750iL when BMW UK said the part was NLA & they couldn’t even source it from Germany.
We absolutely fine.
