Sports Catalytic Converter query.

IF, and I have doubts that it exists as an 'off the shelf' item, if I can find (possibly have one made to measure £££ouch) a Sports Cat for my 2015 Active Tourer 225i Xdrive then when it is fitted is it likely to need codes, software/ecu recalibrating ?
I know it would be usual practice to fit a sports cat and have a remap at the same time but I am just wondering if the sports cat could be done first and what effect it might have as a stand alone unit. I have done this many years ago on a JDM Subaru where the ecu had not been cracked for a remap and no issues.
Any thoughts appreciated.

I haven't done it in that car, but have in an e36 328 & also an 06 Mini R53 with 100% no issues, but just make sure it is a metal substrate good quality cat & you should be fine.
