Hi All,

Im sure you are all aware of the expression 'No good deed goes un punished'.

I offered to advertise and sell my sisters 1998 E36 328i Convertible for her as my brother in law is unwell.

Ive given it a good valet etc and whilst taking the pictures for the ad i thought best to get a shot with the lid off.

During this process it jammed as in the tonneau cover colided with the rear screen.

Ive googled long and hard and done the retiming procedures (dropping out the motors etc) but the point i get to on the reset is latching the tonneau cover with the roof inside, but whatever i do it will not open up to let the roof close.

I am loathed to put it in the garage for fixing as i fear this will cost half of what the cars worth and they could really do with realising some funds from the sale.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Dave

Sounds like the tension straps have gone. Have a look at https://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/threads/guide-e36-c... and PM me an email address and I will send you everything I've got on E36 roofs
