New X5 do they come with a Tracker

Quick question if anyone knows do X5s come with a tracker?

My insurance company are requiring it. My current 7 series has the myBMW connection to the app so I can see where that is.

Is it the same with an X5? Or do I need to get a tracker put on?

The X5 also has the “My BMW” and localisation services can be enabled.

Don’t know if this suffices for insurance purposes, as it can be switched off from within the iDrive menu.

Are you on about Tracker, as in the company ?

Or Telematics ?

I don’t think any manufacturer fits Tracker as standard.

Telematics wise…. Just see if you’ve got an SOS/Help button on your overhead console.

If it's for insurance purposes you'll need a third party tracker fitted. Friend had the same with his M4, the BMW connected services is not enough.

It was for LV with my X7. I insisted they put in writing for the avoidance of doubt!

Most bmws have the option to untick the box via the idrive now. I'd imagine most car thieves know that too, so proper tracker required.

The app qualifies as a tracker for insurance purposes with LV amazingly.
