Looking to buy a car from Knights in Stafford and they now only offer wheel/paint insurance combined but no tyre insurance.

In the past I’ve had wheel/tyre insurance from two BMW dealers including Knights.

Does anyone know if this product change is across all dealers?

Just my view, but I wouldn't bother with it anyway.

In 2008 I bought a pre-registered 1 Series and the dealer was trying to sell me all sorts of additional cover like GAP cover, paint protection and tyre insurance.

IIRC the tyre insurance was around £300 for 3 years, but I couldn't see the point when I only had one puncture in my previous E46 Compact in 3 years.

Sure enough I didn't get a puncture in my 1 Series until I'd had it 5 years, and I got that repaired for £10!

I’ve had the insurance with my 330 and also my current 640 and having just had a tyre and all four wheels fully refurbished on the 640 I’d say it is money well spent. I do drive 20k + miles a year.

On the 330 I had five wheel refurbishments and four tyres in the three year period. Construction site car parks, potholes and a blow out on the M6 all took out the run flats.

I’m currently looking at an X3 with 21” wheels hence asking the question.

Always had it, always paid for itself, especially blebs on side walls after potholes

With any insurance, the careful ones are paying for the careless ones.
