I have an 83k mile 2007 330i with the N53 engine.

To my mind it is running a little lumpy on idle and mid range seems a little dull compared to five years ago and at 45k miles.

I know this could be many things, but anyone had experience of walnut blasting (before and after)??

Strangely, there are a lot of people on forums saying they are getting one done, but then no feedback on results.

Anyone report positive experiences of walnut blasting.....

Brother did it recently on hes 2008 vw scirocco. He reckons it was simple enough job but then again being transverse helped.

One thing he did notice with the walnut blasting it wouldn't do much if the carbon was wet/oily so fingers crossed you don't come across that.

Result not much difference in running but did look much cleaner in the ports.

Was he having a few issues before the blast? I thought (read) walnut blast was ideal for removing sticky carbon deposits? Did he do it himself?

Don't think so, i think he was going on 70k and the 2.0 tsi engine is known to carbon up quite badly so he thought he give it a go with the walnuts.

Edit, he did it himself.
