Afternoon all,

Idly browsing Autotrader and came across this Silverstone Blue M3 which is local and ticks lots of boxes:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202109247...

Does anyone know the history of this car? It's got the M-Performance wheel and exhaust which is a big tick plus rolling on the 18s which is nice.

I wouldn't normally go for palladium silver leather; any views on what this is like to live with (we've got a 2.5-year-old and a six-month-old but they'll mostly be in our SQ5).

Cheers!

Their range and mpg can get a touch frustrating if they are used everyday, however that won't be an issue for you. You also have to drive them really hard to get the best from them, and that is either a plus or minus point depending on your taste.

You will fall in love with the induction noise for sure, and for me they have a fantastic chassis on them too.

The leather will last fine; our old 330 had lemon yellow (or cream to normal people) and that survived a newborn and into toddler just fine but I tend to make an effort with cleaning my cars.

Personally I’m not so keen on that leather particularly with a light paint. It’d work better with black or dark blue, but that’s very much personal preference.

You just have to be quite delicate getting in and out, because the leather is quite soft and the drivers side right hand bolster does wear quite easily.

My E92 M3 was low mileage and the bolster was already showing some wear, and my F82 M4 only had 13k miles on it when I got it, and that was showing wear on the bolster as well.

Sometimes I wish that the M cars had Dakota leather...because at least that is hard wearing in comparison! biggrin

It’s been discussed on the E90 thread on M3 Cutters - it’s approx halfway down on page 28 - https://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/threads/e90-owners-...

I was more thinking from a staining point of view. I’d forget hat my car had the indestructible fake Dakota leather.

This one came up on another Autotrader search today - still for sale.

The mileage history is interesting - 42,251 when MOTd on 13 March 2019 and then 41,741 on 19 February 2020 - wonder why and I've asked the seller!

Cheers for the detective work on M3 Cutters; the car looked pretty awesome when it had all the fancy bits!
