I have a set of Bilstein B12 springs and shocks for my 130i that I need to get fitted, plus an annual service and MOT coming up, which I’d like to get done in one go, if possible.

Can anyone recommend a decent value and well respected specialist that is good for suspension fitting and proper alignment, along with normal servicing and MOT stuff? I’m based in NE London, but am happy to travel for a decent garage.

I’d consider anywhere in Essex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Kent…

The last place I used was Bartlett Automotive in Peterborough (https://bartlett-auto.com/servicing-repairs/). They were mostly good, but failed to solve one or two things and some of their work was pricier than I expected. May still go back, but would rather somewhere a bit nearer.

I’ve come across these options so far. Has anyone used any of them - if so, what were they like?

Phil Crouch at CPC Performance in Amersham. CPC click here He's a decent bloke and very knowledgeable. Difficult to get in contact with though. He's looked after my son's Z4M Coupé and Audi RS4 for some years. He fitted KW Club Sport suspension and a big brake kit for him. He also stripped the engine and checked the big end shells at 50k miles, and replaced the camshafts when one lobe and the follower became galled. Son's Z4M is now in Sydney so I have had little cause to contact him of late.

I know https://walkersautotech.co.uk/ are well thought of by quite a few folk on the BMW forums

They serviced, looked after & maintained my first E39 530i and it was clear they did a good job

ETA at Brands Hatch. Two good guys, you can actually reach them by phone/FB page. But note that they don’t (or didn’t) take card payments!

Bit further afield, but Ben at String Theory did a cracking job on my 130 after I’d fitted M3 LCA’s. They’re based in Stratford upon Avon.

Following on from this, Autotechnik in Lutterworth are excellent too. Bit further away but including for future Googlers too smile
