BMW AUC - Error - Emergency call system not available.
Discussion
Hi All,
I have an approved used BMW - warranty until August 2022.
I am getting the below error from this morning (I remember checking the mileage last night!). This error stops me from seeing the mileage on the car.
Is there anything I should be doing before booking it with local BMW garage?
Also, this is something that should be covered by the AUC warranty right?

This is a reasonably common fault and is generally to do with the battery back up to this option. I had the same issue on a brand new X5 with a few 100 miles on it.
The fix was to drop the headlining and replace the battery.
Should I be doing it if I had AUC warranty though? The fix was to drop the headlining and replace the battery.

It seems a shame to have to bother the warranty company. You’ve put them through enough hassle, when they had to take your payment.

I’d do the work myself. I love dropping headlinings.

I see what you did there It seems a shame to have to bother the warranty company. You’ve put them through enough hassle, when they had to take your payment.

The error message seems to have gone away in the last 20 mins. I am now wondering if it was just a server issue.
Will check tomorrow and see what happens!
Editing because the user below said it is battery issue. I am going to take it to BMW garage tomorrow and try book it in under AUC warranty. Will post the resolution if I find it!

it went away itself.I think this was a problem with the BMW server. if it says malfunction then it seems the battery is gone. If it says not available then it is the server issue.
It should clear out itself (it did for me anyways!)

We have it with our X5. BMW say that it is because we don't use the car enough and battery isn't being topped up.
Being replaced under warranty on Monday.
I got the same error again today. I think i jinxed it with yesterdays response.Being replaced under warranty on Monday.
Can you tell me what did you tell to book it in? It is just the error? Is it an Approved Used Car or car within 3 years?
I will get mine booked also tomorrow
