2017 640d GC - Rockfall notification on satnav

Any thoughts on this one.

On Friday afternoon and the early hours of Monday morning I was on the M6 Toll heading north when my satnav warned me of dangerous road conditions ahead and both times it said 'rockfall' and displayed images to back this up.

The exact point was where the M6 Toll merges onto the M6.

Unless the rocks fell from the sky I cannot see how this could happen.

I have had a sign with ‘object in road ahead’, twice recently, the SatNav had just been updated (which has been quarterly/6-monthly since 2017), but this was the first time that that sign has come up. It was, indeed, a mile or two before road works with central barriers. Perhaps the rock-fall is on maps that include Europe?

Yes my 2019 bmw 118i has the same warning on the M5 between Bristol & Weston, stays on for a mile or so.

Get it in the M2 as well, just a warning of something ahead afaik although 99% of the time it is BS as nothing there.

Had the rockfall warning between J27 and J28 of the M25 this morning at around 11, continued with dangerous conditions until I joined the A12. Curious as the road was free and clear..
