Fitter a new battery in my f11 105ah bigger then the one in there previously. I used IATA d to register it and it come up with this message and told me to use ista p. Then I tried to use Carly but that didn't code correctly.

If the capacity of the battery or the type (AGM/lead acid) is changed from the factory supplied then the car needs to be programmed to let the battery sensor know. This is done through the retrofit part of programming.

Hardly anyone does this and as it just alters the charge system slightly, you can just register the battery change as normal by telling the system same size fitted. Even BMW batteries have changed from 90ah to 92ah, but there is no retrofit setting for 92ah.

If you find a garage with a top of the range Autel diagnostic machine it can programme the battery sensor without having to programme the whole car.
