Looking at buying a new to 4 year old g20 3 series or X3 in 20d flavour.

And I can see cars seem to get this new mild hybrid tech from Autumn 2020 onwards.

Anyone have any real world driving performance experience of this, if u can get an extra 25-50miles out of a tank with this tech as well as better performance it sounds great.

Cheers

It's great technology. Improves pickup and also assists the car in the stop/start phase. Also an additional 11bhp electric boost on acceleration.

Definitely worth stretching to if you can.

I have a MHT 30d and it's very good the additional and instant 11hp does make itself known, the only thing I'd say is the stop start isn't that much better than it used to be and you have to be in sport to cancel it, I use it in traffic or in town but when at roundabouts and junctions when you want to be smart about getting away it can be a pain I find.

Thankyou.

I test drove and bought an X3 20d today.

Tech seemed seamless and reasonable fuel economy on the test drive, very impressed.

Huge step up from my ageing e91 320d.

Or just code it out
