Best places in/near SE London for remap?
Discussion
Hello!
After getting some advice from the kind folks on this forum, I'm keen to get a remap for my 325i (M Sport Touring, E91, LCI, 2011; 3.0L I6 N53B30, 160kW/215bhp)
Has anyone had a good experience with a shop in or near south east London?
I'm considering two options for the remap:
1. A straight remap for the 325i as it is (Performance Torque in Wolverhampton reckon they can get +47hp/ +45Nm torque)
2. A remap after swapping out the existing 325i inlet manifold for a 3-stage 330i manifold
Thanks!

BW Chiptune have a good reputation on the BabyBMW forum, so might be worth a shout. Not local local but closer than Wolverhampton.
Thanks again. Had a reassuring no-BS chat with Jason at BW about potential gains. Long story short, seems like it's worth swapping out the 325i manifold for the 330i manifold......which is easier said than done! I can't find any online (apart from new OEM, which will set me back around £550, making it uneconomical).
Any suggestions?

Have you tried Quarry Motors in Sheffield? They’re a dedicated BMW breaker....which is easier said than done! I can't find any online (apart from new OEM, which will set me back around £550, making it uneconomical).
Any suggestions?

Appreciate you put the "short" version above, but were there any partucualrs of why the 330i manifold is needed over the 325i?...which is easier said than done! I can't find any online (apart from new OEM, which will set me back around £550, making it uneconomical).

It suggests it's more hardware related than software related (which is what I thought it was..owner of N53 525i here)

There are folks in these forums more expert than me about this, but in a nutshell, according to my understanding of the situation: the 325i N53 engine is just a detuned version of the 330i N53 engine. The two differences are (a) the inlet manifold, and (b) the software. The 325i manifold is one-stage, whereas the 330i manifold is three-stage. And the 325i engine is ready and waiting to take a 330i manifold (but obvs you'd need a remap to get it all working together properly). It suggests it's more hardware related than software related (which is what I thought it was..owner of N53 525i here)
It's also my understanding that if you don't want to swap the manifolds, a remap alone can still bring about decent performance gains, simply by way of reversing some of the software detuning that BMW did to the engine to make it more like a 325i instead of a 330i.
Happy to stand corrected!
