My wife has lost the locking wheel nut to her X1. She is having a hard time sourcing a replacement from loxal BMW dealer for some reason. They won't give her a price and as the car is a lease advised her to contact the lease co/broker?

Does anyone know the best place to source a replacement and the cost?

When I needed one, I just went to the main stealer, they brought out a box with a full set of around 30 & I tried each one to find the right one, then ordered it, it was there in 3 days but I can't remember the price.

As above. BMW emergency service vehicles also carry master sets. I’ve got two.

Get the tyre shop to remove them, and fit non locking ones.
Locking wheel bolts are nowt but a pain in the arse. They inhibit normal service work, and don't deter the scumbags.

I lost the one for my other half’s car, the replacement was £11.

Just pop to the local dealer and see the parts department; they’ll have loads and will be able to find which is the right one.

If it is an ABC40 with 23 splines PM me and I'll send one for the cost of postage.

If/when you find the appropriate locking wheel nut key, genuine BMW versions have a number on the end. I think they go up to 40. I’m not sure if there are 40 versions though. I have a 23, a 28 and a 34 for my cars.
To get a new one, take your V5 to the dealers, and a form of ID with your address on, and they will order one for you. They may have one in stock.
They can get a bit funny if the number you gave them doesn't match the number BMW have on the database.
I found the dealers the cheapest place for them. I think mine was £9.
Obviously you buy 2 spares, so that way, you will never lose one again!
Make a note of the number of wheel nut key.
