BMW F10 M5 - my new ride
Discussion
Stepped out of 120,000 mile F10 530D and into F10 M5 - different animals. The 530D was the best all round family car I have ever had. I also only ever had to change an oil pump and that was because the casing had cracked. Other than that just consumables. Amazing car.
However. 600BHP and about the same torque in the M5 + the configurability of the car is a transformational change. Feels heavier though and the extra rubber does give the relevant grip but the balance is completely different
Only done 300 miles in it so far but mostly A and B road blasts. Overtaking opportunities have quadrupled compared to the 530D and that was actually pretty quick above 30 mph.
I just have to avoid the temptation to re-map it to 700bhp... and sort out the slightly numb straight ahead on the steering.
