What are folks experiences and thoughts on the above engine?

It’s missing two cylinders…

Whilst it’s supposedly a replacement for the N52/3 it never will be for me because the above.

It depends what year. Earlier ones are garbage, oil pump chain, crank thrust washers, timing chain guides - all the usual BMW nonsense. I saw one recently, 2012 320i saloon with a genuine 43k and it sounded like a cement mixer. With FBMWSH it is getting a new engine FOC.

Later ones are okay, or at least better.
