BMW Paint Warranty claim - how long?
Discussion
The bootlid on our 2019 M140i has a small blister on it which seems common.
Took it to our local BMW dealer who said it needs to be inspected by the BMW Approved Body shop, who would submit their findings to the main dealer, who would submit a claim, once approved the Body shop would contact us to get it booked in.
Went to the body shop 18th March and they said expect to hear from them in a month.
That was almost 3 months ago. I've rang them at month 2 and then a couple of weeks ago and they said "because COVID" basically - so theres a backlog.
3 months to approve a claim seems beyond reasonable. Anyone else recently experienced similar?
Should i contact BMW Customer Service?

I would get back on their case, I had the same a couple of years back with my 2017 M140i and it was inspected, authorised, booked in and repaired within about a month.
I don't think it's acceptable to still be citing Covid as an excuse for delays in getting stuff like this done.
Thanks i thought so too. The body shop just say "we'll let you know when we've heard", so i'll ring the dealers next and if they're drawing a blank i'll ring BMW customer care.I don't think it's acceptable to still be citing Covid as an excuse for delays in getting stuff like this done.
