Silly me. I have a water butt type thing, just a soft plastic square that folds away nicely when not in use. Filled it up, put it in the boot and I can only presume it turned into a ball shape once moving, flicked the tap to the on position and it emptied around 10 to 15L of water in the boot, all collecting in the battery area.

I got a fault, chassis failure, drive slowly and the air suspension won't inflate now. Back wheels are now tucked into the wheel arches like a Barry boy mod gone wrong.

The 40amp fuse was blown, however to my disappointment, the new fuse didn't do anything. It hasn't blown again though, so not sure what is happening. Prior to that, I did hear the air compressor trying to inflate the suspension, so not sure if that's knackered and was the cause of the blown fuse.

Car is f07 5 series gt 2013, which as I understand, has similarities to f01, f10 and f11.

Any thoughts on how I can reset the car to let it start up again or any other troubleshooting ideas?

Sounds like you've flooded the wheel well and shorted the compressor

Personally I'd be removing all the bits; ensuring they're bone dry and then inspecting them for damage etc

Could be a straight forward fix; could be a can of worms unfortunately

There is a couple of relays in the wheel well area that controls the compressor that have likely been damaged by the water - that’s are standard relays that you will be able to get at any auto parts shop - just need to match them up.
and if I remember correctly - the compressor is underneath the car not inside the boot so that should be fine.

I had water ingress on my 530 which blew a resistor controlling the air. Well worth checking them for an easy cheap fix.
