BMW recall issued today for F3x
Discussion
Thanks.
The .gov recall website said nothing earlier, but now it does.

Looks like the N47-engined cars (my 320D included) are on the list too, but I've been waiting for since I read about the first EGR recalls in the US (PDF of BMW TSB from June 2020).

Interesting - I already had one recall for EGR replacement on my late 2017 car but it's showing on the government site as recalled again. I wonder if they've had another case of discovering the same sort of defect in the revised part (which I think has happened once already!) or have just extended the range of affected vehicles by including a big range of chassis numbers regardless of whether they've already had the work done.
Guess I'll find out when I call the dealer.

Thanks for the heads-up.
I only collected my 17 plate 435 on Friday from Sytner and see that it's got a recall !!!!!
I got a service history print out on purchase and saw that it had already had work completed around the EGR
Perhaps it needs some more.

Checked mine on the govt website. Yup, recall again. F30 335d. I had the EGR fix last year or so.
ETA: I have booked it in for a service and the recall work, shame about paying for a loan car, nowadays!
Why do I love BMWs, but hate the servicing experience? I am afraid to say those negatives are starting to overcome the positives.

Just picked mine up from it's check and/or replace...and they replaced it!
Couldn't tell me what the specific cause for the replacement was...other than 'because of the recall'!
They also told me of an advisory on my 'complimentary health check'...my rear discs & pads are 65% worn and should be changed soon. The fact that they've done 50,000 miles so far, and the iDrive shows 19,000 miles remaining means their calculation is right, but their timeframe is well out! At this rate it will be 5 years before they need doing

Got mine sorted Friday and the same story. Very much the company line of it being replaced due to recall and no further details.
Only recommendation on work was rear tyres, think they are at 4mm. I believe the techs have a sales target for extra work per car they work on.
Something wish I had never bothered with however was the complimentary wash. I think what the actually did was make it wet then let it sit it the sunshine to dry, what a ferkin state. After it had dried someone with greasy hands opened and shut the bonnet. Never again!

I took mine in filthy, so anything would have looked better (although there's a do not wash order on my Z4MC).Only recommendation on work was rear tyres, think they are at 4mm. I believe the techs have a sales target for extra work per car they work on.

However, they didn't even try to clean the straw & hay remains out of the boot

Had mine in on Wednesday this week.
My EGR was actually coded out of the map and physically blocked at both ends. I informed them about this and they said they would not be able to re-install the blocks, so left them in the glovebox.
They performed the test and it failed, so it was replaced. But I believe the EGR remains coded out in the DME map, so I can reinsert the blocks.

This has reappeared on some of the 640d FB groups again as well, my 640D has gone but it would be if recalled again on the 4th EGR cooler.
It does say to me BMW have still not got a supplier that has fully resolved the issue of the cooler on the N47 and N57. Having read the recall letters of some on FB the failure method is exactly the same as last time, shocking really.
