Just looking at buying a 2016/7/8 118d out here in Spain as a backup family car. None of the ads here however appear to specify trim levels. How can I visually confirm from the ad what the trim level of the car is? I'm basically after M sport (suspension), or rather, NOT SE trim. While my Spanish is okay, I'm not sure it extends to discussing trim levels (yet!).

They all appear to have "///M" on the steering wheel and gear knobs, but only some have the badge on the side which is confusing...

Cars I'm interested in:

Any help much appreciated, want to try and see some tomorrow if poss.

Not a 1 series expert, but we did have one in the family a few years ago.

Based on the front end, LED's and seats, adaptive suspension, I'd say they're all Msport models.

Personally I'd take any of the cloth versions. Leather in Spain, no thanks.

Yes there all M Sport, visually the bumpers are different between SE, Sport and M Sport. M Sport having the black lower splitter part on the rear.

Have decided to go for the orange one, fun colour (pretty much everything car i've ever owned has been white, blue, black or red), i like the dark grey wheels and 5 doors for extra practicality with the kids and car seats smile

Not really fussed either way about seat material. Given a choice I'd have leather, for looks and easier to keep clean. Heat in Spain not so much of an issue as realistically you've got aircon on when it's warm smile

Well, she arrived today, the 118d beast wink Very pleased so far after a few km. Love the exterior colour in the sun and it goes great with the darker grey wheels. Cloth interior is a very nice place to be, don't miss leather at all. Engine is pokey enough OOTB, plenty for every day duties (esp compared to the 70bhp Fiat Panda I had as a holiday rental for the last week, which genuinely unusable above 60 mph). I love that diesels, for all their faults, always feel about 1 - 1.5s to 60 quicker than they are in reality, when you're driving normally. Nevertheless I'm looking at mapping options to take it to 190 or so because why not.

Engine feels a little agricultural, but given its predecessor backup family cars were 330d and 330i 6-pots, it was always going to feel a little vibey/clunky I guess. I am however looking forward to getting about double the mpg our Disco 4 achieves - I must be getting old wink Also, I like that it's been de-badged (or ordered without badge?), so I must be turning into a bit of a tart as well laugh
