Managed to convince the wife to get rid of her porsche cayenne ehybrid which was costing a fortune to run. She recently took delivery of her 2020 730d xdrive. Ive driven it a few times and ive got to say im very impressed. 730d is more than quick enough, weve had over 41mpg on longer journeys and the air suspension and armchairs for seats are fantastically comfy for longer journeys. The cayenne i found didnt ride that well on air suspension and handled like a block of flats in comparison! smile heres a picture of it.

More tellingly the wife likes it more than the cayenne she had. I was never a fan of the macan s or cayenne. I found their ride to be quite harsh and strangely floaty over back roads. Im 6ft7 and can drive the 7 series in my normal driving position and if i sat behind id still have 2 foot legroom. I cant imagine what the lwb version would be like! Interior is also superb. I have a 2019 s5 and quality of bmw is now better id say👍

I have to commend her taste in cars, I think these are great!

It seemed like BMW couldn’t give them away a few years ago with £30k discount seemingly normal on AT, whereas now the chance to actually buy a new diesel 7 has passed they seem to be doing pretty well.

I’m doing silly long Euro trips in my F10 M5 and really this is a far more sensible superior sort of replacement.

Many thanks il pass it on! When we bought it the car was the cheapest in the uk for its mileage spec and age. I tried to get more money off it but the dealer wasnt having it. The good news with her part exchange is that porsche were desperate to buy it back and the wife didnt lose much money since she bought it new in december 2021. The ride on the 7 series in comfort is great and the standard comfort seats are brilliant. Tbh im that impressed by it im looking for one possibly to replace my 2019 audi s5 sportback!

Love the 7 series. Currently got a 5 and there’s a 7 nearby I always see and keep thinking if I should get one next or wether it’s just that little bit too big. The 5 is big enough as it is.
But then isn’t bigger always better?
