Bmw G20 no info in service menu for brake pads

Hi guys

I got a f30 2017 320d and in servicing it shows me how many miles I have untill the brake pads need doing

I just brought another g20 320d new facelift it shows me everything that will need doing apart from the brake pads??

Has anyone else had this issue ?

Was told this has been removed from all modern bmws as it was just an algorithm and not accurate.

My f31 started to show 3k miles left on the fronts, the pads had over 6mm on all of them. 12k miles later, still over 5mm.
